The IHSA just released the list of all 256 football teams that have qualified for the 2011 state playoffs.
You can view the entire list on the IHSA website, but 10 Fox Valley teams qualified this year.
Marian Central (9-0) – 39 playoff points
Prairie Ridge (8-1) – 40 playoff points
Bartlett (7-2) – 43 playoff points
Crystal Lake Central (6-3) – 39 playoff points
Crystal Lake South (8-1) – 41 playoff points
Cary-Grove (7-2) – 40 playoff points
Burlington Central (7-2) – 38 playoff points
Jacobs (7-2) – 35 playoff points
Woodstock North (7-2) – 31 playoff points
Streamwood (6-3) – 25 playoff points
The Fox Valley Valley added four while the Fox added three teams to total seven from the entire FVC.
Crystal Lake South stretched their playoff streak to 11-straight while it’s the first playoff visit for Woodstock North in school history.
The Upstate Eight Valley and River each saw three teams clinch playoff games to total six from the UEC. Streamwood had the lowest playoff point total (25) of any team in the postseason.
Burlington Central clinched their first playoff berth last week and will enter at 7-2 from the Big Northern’s East Division, along with Richmond-Burton (8-1) and Harvard (7-2).
Marian Central led the way for the Suburban Christian Gold division as St. Edward’s 4-5 record helped miss the playoffs this season.
Pairings will be released at 8:00 p.m. over on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus. The early outlook is that Marian Central should have a No. 1 seed (identified in their with their top ranking in the AP Class 5A poll) while Prairie Ridge (6A) and Bartlett (8A) should be hosts in the first round.
Also hosting will be Crystal Lake South. Right now it looks like they’ll stay in 7A but that remains to be determined.
By rough estimate, Cary-Grove’s thrilling win in overtime at PR might have earned C-G a home playoff game in 6A while in 7A, Jacobs might not have enough playoff points to rank them high enough for a first round home game in Algonquin.
Burlington Central and Woodstock North may be on the road even at 7-2 in 5A and look for FVC opponents like Grayslake Central to be lurking in the first two rounds.
CL Central at 6-3 will more than likely be on the road to open and there’s still a chance they could fall to 5A. Stay tuned.
Streamwood could be a likely opponent for Crystal Lake South in 7A if the Gators do not switch classes.
